FriendMatch Terms of Service

1. Who we are
FriendMatch (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online platform that helps people find platonic friends around the world.
By using FriendMatch, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you don’t agree, do not use the site or create an account.
2. Eligibility
To use FriendMatch, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Use the site only for platonic friendship, not dating or romantic/sexual purposes
- Be able to enter into a binding agreement in your place of residence
If we believe you do not meet these requirements, we may suspend or close your account.
3. Your account and security
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login details private
- Any activity that happens under your account
- Letting us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access
We are not responsible for losses caused by someone else using your account due to your failure to keep it secure.
If you share or use FriendMatch on public or shared devices, use extra caution.
4. How FriendMatch should be used
FriendMatch is meant for:
- Finding and connecting with new friends
- Joining and participating in friend-focused groups or activities
- Messaging other members in a respectful, non-romantic way
You must not use FriendMatch to:
- Date, flirt, or pursue sexual/romantic relationships
- Sell products or services (unless clearly allowed in specific areas like groups/events we designate)
- Spam, advertise, or solicit members without their clear consent
5. Your interactions with other members
You are responsible for your own interactions.
- We do not routinely run criminal background checks on members.
- We do not verify all identities, statements, or backgrounds.
- We cannot guarantee that members are who they say they are.
You agree to:
- Use common-sense caution, especially before meeting someone in person
- Meet in public places for first meetups
- Tell a friend or family member where you’re going and when
- Never send money to people you meet on FriendMatch
We are not liable for what happens between you and other members, online or offline, including any physical, emotional, or financial harm.
6. Safety and conduct rules
You may not use FriendMatch to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or stalk anyone
- Promote hate, racism, bigotry, or violence
- Share sexually explicit or pornographic content
- Exploit or endanger minors in any way
- Post illegal, fraudulent, or misleading content
- Share or promote self-harm or suicide content
- Engage in scams, phishing, fraud, or requests for money
- Send spam, chain letters, or mass unsolicited messages
- Share viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Attempt to hack, scrape, or disrupt FriendMatch or other accounts
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
If you break these rules, we may:
- Remove your content
- Suspend or terminate your account
- Report serious violations to law enforcement
All at our discretion, with or without notice.
7. Content you post
“Content” includes text, photos, messages, profile details, groups, events, and anything you share.
By posting content, you:
- Remain the owner of your content
- Grant FriendMatch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute it as needed to operate and improve the service
- Confirm that:
- You have the rights to share the content
- Your content does not break laws or infringe on others’ rights
We may remove or edit content that:
- Violates these Terms
- Appears illegal, harmful, or abusive
- Puts members at risk
We are not obligated to monitor all content, but may review content and messages for safety, moderation, or legal reasons.
8. No professional advice
FriendMatch may include blog posts or discussions that are for information and general interest only.
This is not medical, legal, financial, mental health, or any other professional advice. Seek a qualified professional if needed.
9. Payments, memberships, and subscriptions
If FriendMatch offers paid memberships:
- You agree to pay the fees shown
- Payments are processed by third-party providers like Stripe
- Subscriptions may automatically renew
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your billing details updated
- Cancelling before the next billing cycle if you no longer want the subscription
Unless stated otherwise:
- Fees are non-refundable, including partial periods, unused time, or downgraded plans

10. Service changes and availability
We may:
- Change, update, or remove features
- Suspend or limit access
- Stop offering FriendMatch entirely
We may do this anytime, with or without notice, and are not liable for these changes.
We aim for reliability, but:
- We do not guarantee 100% uptime
- Outages or maintenance may occur
11. Account suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You misuse the platform
- Your behavior risks harm to others or FriendMatch
- We believe it is necessary legally or for safety
You may close your account anytime. If terminated:
- You lose access to your account
- We may retain necessary information as described in the Privacy Policy
12. Intellectual property
FriendMatch’s logo, brand, design, and software are protected by law.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our site or services
- Use our brand or logo without written permission
13. Disclaimer of warranties
FriendMatch is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee:
- Error-free or uninterrupted service
- That the service meets your expectations
- That all users or content are safe, accurate, or reliable
We disclaim all warranties allowed by law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- FriendMatch is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive damages, or loss of profits/data
- Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 6 months
15. Privacy
Your use of FriendMatch is governed by our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date and may notify users of major changes.
Continuing to use FriendMatch means you accept the new Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba, Canada. Disputes are handled in Manitoba courts unless required otherwise by law.
